National Smart Start Conference

Annual Report

Celebrating 10 Years

Smart Start is North Carolina's nationally recognized and award-winning early childhood initiative designed to ensure that young children enter school healthy and ready to succeed.

Thanks to grants from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Park Foundation, Smart Start's National Technical Assistance Center is available to assist communities and states in the development, implementation and integration of comprehensive community-based early childhood initiatives. The expertise provided by the Center is based upon eight years of experience and lessons learned in the development and implementation of the Smart Start Initiative.
